I place great importance on communication and understanding. You are probably coming to me because you want something made in a specific style. Become familiar with my body of work, if you haven't.
With that in mind, discussing what you want out of a piece before I start work on it is vital. Great places to start are Tempo (the general pacing of the work), Mood, Style, Function (is this background music? music for a purpose? chill listening?) - help me to understand what you want, and I will interpret that using my unique perspective as an artist.
Once a commission has been agreed upon, payment must be made up front. A PayPal invoice will be issued for the amount due. Drafts of the work before revisions / completion will be provided as a low quality .mp3 file. Once finished, all applicable files (final masters, stems, sound effects, etc.) will be provided in .wav format + any other format you require (.ogg, .mp3, .aac, whatever).
Any initial revisions to music or sound effects will be free. Further revisions for music cost $50 USD per revision. Further revisions for sound effects are negotiable. I reserve the right to issue a full refund of payment at any point, for any reason. Availability of commissions, as well as their going rates, may be changed at any time.
Original Music - You are given the right to play / use / reproduce the song(s) anywhere online or offline for all time, with some exceptions. For example, you may freely use the song(s) in videos or live streams, however, you may NOT upload the song(s) to Bandcamp / Spotify / iTunes / other online storefronts under a new artist name and sell / stream it for money. The song(s) will remain as part of my creative portfolio and I retain the right to play / use / reproduce the song(s) anywhere online or offline for all time.
Mixing / Mastering - You are given the right to play / use / reproduce the song(s) anywhere online or offline for all time. I do not gain or retain any rights to the song(s). I retain the right to list the mixing / mastering work as part of my creative portfolio.
Sound Effects - You are given the right to play / use / reproduce the sound effect(s) anywhere online or offline for all time. I retain the right to list the sound effect(s) as part of my creative portfolio.
Custom Agreement - If the song(s) or sound effect(s) will be used in a Film, Game, or other creative work, we can reach an agreement on how the work will be displayed. Under any circumstance, the song(s) will remain as part of my creative portfolio, and I retain the right to host the song(s) on Bandcamp.
